ASIO compatibility question

i am now getting more into the PC recording method. I have been using stand alone multitrackers up to now. So here is another newbie question........ If my DAW software says ASIO compatible, should any interface that is ASIO work pretty good with my software?? Including ASIO 2.0?? thanks
