This is installment three now in my instrument purge...need to sell some instruments to make room (and money) for studio upgrade as well as other, less audio-related, needs.
I bought this bass new from G&L in late 2005. It is AS NEW as it came from the factory. I have not put one mark on the bass while it has been with me. I have meticulously cleaned it, refreshed the wax on the finish, and maintained everything. I even use a microfiber cloth to tune the thing, so the tuners are pristine. No kidding, you'll have a hard time finding a "newer" L2K....unbelievable condition!
Handcrafted instrument built right here in the USA (before G&L bought CNC machines). Beautiful and deep honeyburst finish, rosewood board, maple (quartersawn) neck. Weighs right at (perhaps slightly under) 10lbs. One piece swamp ash body - BEAUTIFUL grain. Check out the last picture below for a closeup of the fretboard...absolutely stunning Rosewood...almost has cocobolo-like figuring and color when the light hits it just right.
This one hurts to get rid of...just like the Valenti and the Flaxwood in my other threads. I have too many basses, and this one has to go. I'm keeping my other G&L (JB-2), so at least I'll have one remaining in the stable.
Price is $900 shipped in the G&L case...I have the case candy (instrument certificate and "manual"). Please note that I played this bass out quite a few times, so the case is not mint. It protected the bass perfectly well, but it has a few bumps and dings....as it should for being out and about with a regularly gigging band. The case is functional, however, and will protect this instrument for some time to come.
My price is firm on this one...G&L basses easily stand head to head with USA Laklands and Sadowsky Metro instruments, and you can't find a hand-crafted domestic bass at this level for less money. Period.
Price includes shipping, but not paypal fees (pm me and we'll discuss).
