Anyone own one of these? How is it compared to say the dbx 166 solid state type comp? I've only owned the dbx and some channel strips with optical comps.

They are two different animals. The ART is my favorite for bass and vocals. It also does a great job on a drum buss.

I think everyone should have at least three of them. One of them will be for parts... As cool as they sound, their QC is looking pretty bad over the last few years...
