are ART preamps any good for recording vocals, i am using my cool edit pro 2.0 for recording

I'd skip them if I had the budget. Even at that price point there are a couple better options....DMP3, VTB1, heck, the audiobuddy.....

I've used an ART TPS for vocal a few times and it worked. Its a step up from Behringer and usable. I got a some decent tracks with it and low noise.

I had an ART DPSII for a few weeks. (I brought it back). The DPS was ok, (very versatile) but I also have a Focusite Voicemaster that is definitely better. If I were you, unless you're going to just get a Tube MP (which is super cheap - I still have one), I would spend a little more and get something better. (Maybe a Joe Meek 3Q, or RNP). My 2 cents ...

Actually that was my 1st use and I liked them so much for the price i bought 2 more to cut gtr with now I am seeking a few more for Keyboard DI's
