ART MPA Gold preamp

Anyone have any experience with this preamp? I'm outfitting a small home studio, strictly for personal recording. I'm looking for an inexpensive preamp that will add a little color to vocals. "Sound On Sound" gave the thing a decent review, sort of a "good given its price range" sort of thing.

Any thoughts?

Along the lines of the MPA Gold, the ART Pro Channel has gotten some good reviews. If you only need one channel you might take a look at it as well.

I'm still liking my Digital MPA after 4 or 5 months. It does a number of clever things, a good box for $400.
