Hey guys im going to maybe be getting the behringer truth 2031A Monitors and they are 8.75 woofers. I am going to be in my bedroom which is fairly small (standard room size) Would it be smarter to get something smaller? i wanted the big ones for the bass frequency

+1 on what John said.

I'd also add that you can't judge bass response based strictly upon speaker element size. There's so much more that goes into the design of a speaker. I've seen and heard some monitors with 6" woofers that delivered better bass response than some with 8" woofers did, and vice versa.

It's just like displacement size on a car engine. Just because engine A is a 4.0 liter engine and engine B is a 3.4 liter engine doesn't automatically mean that engine A is going move your car faster; there are many other factors that go into that equation.

Amen brother!!! When I worked at the dreaded Guitar Center I had tons of people coming in looking at 8" monitors and they were consistently blown away by how huge the Dynaudio BM5A's sounded. By far the biggest sounding small speaker I've ever heard. To the original poster, listen to these two guys they are very well respected in the audio field.
