Completely uneducated here, but I think thats a later addition. From Memory the really early Ludy Logos were printed really small, and in a "script" type font. You'd probably also have the keystone bagdes on the vents.

Another thing to consider is the minimal number of lugs! Most Ludy's I've seen have a lot more lugs than that.

I think they are the cheaper japanease made models but are not ludwig, they would of been mad e by companies such as Pearl and Tama. Any age on them?

The rims are the old Slingerland die cast rims! So are the lugs! My bet is very old Slingerland - early 1950s. Someone put on Ludwig Heads.

Yeah, I don;t think they are tama's, I have a couple of sets of the first run of Tamas (1965-66) and they look a little more Modern than the ones in the pic. Can you see what colour the inside is painted? if its grey then it may well be slingerland, or a japanese copy.... depends on the wood.

I have a set that was made by Tama that are identical to them and they have the same lug system and everything, they are not under the tama name though.

They are not "die cast " hoops but "stick saver hoops". Slingerland and old Pearls have those hoops as well as japanese nock offs.

Well, my bet based on the lugs is that they are Slingerland. The shells kind of give it away...

Still looks like standard Slingerland rims.
