Are AKG headphones (k-240) better or worse than Sony head...

Specifically between those two, I can't comment on... but personally, for tracking I use Fostex T-20s. Because I needed some cans that can take a lot of power (what is it with these drummers and bassists, are they inherently deaf??? :) ) I also bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M40fs cans and boy can they take a volume hit! Great little units! For reference listening, I use BeyerDynamic DT770s.

I tried a friends 240's and I prefered my 7506's. The 7506's are a LOT louder than the 240's and I prefered what I heard... both are very comfortable though for long sessions!

The 7506's are the best pair you can get for under a hundred bucks.... period.
Nothing even comes close for picking out the details.
Get the Sony's, you'll be glad you did. ;)
 
Yeah, but they're becoming a real pain in the ass to find. Anyone with a good price link? (7506s)
