okay, this might seem like the dumbest question in the world, considering i've had my XT20 for awhile... but how do you add effects and such after the material is recorded? Up until now i've been sending the track out of the adat to the mixer (with the effect chain in the i/o of the channel) and then out back into another empty track on the adat. the problem now is that there are no empty tracks. now what???? how do i just keep the track where it is but add effects... i can do that, cant i?

If you are out of tracks and can't bounce the tracks down, you won't be able to print the effect to tape. At least, I don't think so, but I have a blackface, not an XT.

That's what the AUX sends/returns on the mixer are for........... you don't actually record the effects, you add them at mixdown...
