apple mac g4

im buying a g4 apple mac tower with a view to recording (not sure of specs till i get it )
only thing i do know is it will have a gig of ram
can you make suggestions for a suitable audio interface
firewire ? usb ?
im looking for at least 4 in 4 out
i intend to buy some ebay bargains
i'd love to go the light pipe route but think this might be a bit too expensive for my budgetless studio
currently using a 1.8hz ibm pc (xp) with m audio delta 66 sound card
im hoping the mac will cope better than the pc
any advice is apperciated thanks

i know it's not quite what you asked,
but i wouldn't recommend a G4, or even G5.

Apple have discontinued support for PPC macs, and i imagine most hardware/software manufacturers will too, if they haven't already.
