Had a marathon recording session going on Sunday. 12 hours. Somewhere very late we were in the 8th take of a difficult song. Number 8 was the charm. Everything was perfect. Until ........ At the very end, as the bass and lead guitar swelled up then down to fade the rhythm guitar player got so excited about the great take he started clapping. 7 live mics in the room. He almost got slaughtered by the rest of the band. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
sorry...i mean that sucks but i kind of imagine the band being all pissed off hehehe

you just need to try to record it again...but after 12 hours that must have sucked big time

and...DigitalDon...i hope you at least got paid lol

Or use it.Add in a few more claps, whistles, hooting and beer bottles clanging.

I feel your pain. I've had that happen more than once. I love the inevitable question, "CAN YOU FIX IT"???
Nope. Do it again.

Yeah I waited until all the screaming was over then told them it was fixable. Drums had already rung out, bass was DI so lead was the only thing I had to fool with. Silenced the ends of the drum tracks. Did a punch in starting a few measures before the fade and got it in one take. I guess I could have EQ'd it out since everything in the fade was in a very low register but the first re-take was great.

It's been awhile since I've done a session that long. Especially since I took a year off to build the studio. Even though it was tiring as hell I still had a great time. 6 AM Monday morning sure came quick though

Hey Don
Who built your butler building for you ?
I'm thinking of going same route you did
as for as the building itself. Not sure if I should build a wood pole building or a metal one like yours.
I know this isn't the correct place to ask questions about studio construction but I didn't know how else to talk to you.

Thanks
