...I understand there are those on this board who hate this type of question... please bear with me 
I picked up a used dbx DDP for cheap$; seems to work especially nicely as a de-esser. I haven't noticed any ill effects, noise, or poor performance (doesn't mean it's not there!
)
There's noticably no digital outs. If there's a knock against this box, would that be it? Or to ask another way -- would someone get rid of a DDP mainly because there's no S/PDIF or AES/EBU out?
I'm thinking it's a pretty good compressor... am I wrong
? Opinions? Is this something you'd put alongside your RNC, for example? Is it a big, long paperweight? A trashbag filler?
