Hi Everyone,
I am confused between choosing PT HD (Native, Accel,HDX)+ OMNI*******or ******** UAD Apollo Quad.
I don't need more than two inputs simultaneously which means I/O is not a major concern here.
What would be your recommendation if my budget was 5,000, you obviously know that spending 5,000 on Apollo, you can get a lot of bang for the buck, say 2700 for the interface and 2300 for the plugins, you’ll buy almost all plugins from UA online store and utilize the benefit of SHARC chips and take the load off of your computer.
Spending 5,000 or more PT only benefit you from HD native Thunderbolt+ OMNI. I am unable to find somewhere where I can go and compare PT HD Native VS UAD Apollo, and see if there’s any audible difference in terms of clarity, conversion, accuracy in general. Apparently PT claim for accuracy of certain calculations relying on its HD Native card over computer.
Does anyone have any idea of which product is superior in terms of clarity, conversion and latency which are my major concerns, regardless of budget, if you think UAD has better conversion, pres and latency, how much do I have to spend to get that advantages from PT HD.
My last question is that I am also thinking about HDX+Omni, is it gonna be an all in one solution for at least next 4-5 years? Do all plugins that ship with PT 11HD will bypass my computer and get calculated in HDX chips? Can HDX+OMNI give me more than Apollo Quad toped up with $2500 worth of Plugins.
My overall concern is clarity, punch and quality mixes. If you think HDX is the ultimate solution and a head over other products then I will have to wait couple more months until I make the budget and will go for it.
Any input will be highly appreciated as I am lost in this context and have been researching for two months still 0 result.
Thanks in advance
