I decided to contact two manufacturers of DAC's, Lavy and Apogee since I am in the market for such a unit. I asked about the accuracy of the clocks in the Apogee 200 and the Blue series by Lavy. Lavy answered quickly and the specs are published. I contacted Apogee and was asked to submit the question via email which a did over a week ago without an answer. I called to follow up and was told that they would not reveal how accurate their clocking mechanism is. I have a problem with manufacturers who say their products are very good without any specifications to back it up. How would you know if it is even working as it should!

Maybe they just don't like you.

(Just messin' with ya)

What a bunch of ass clowns. Show us yer specs, damnit.

You did the right thing by contacting the manufacturer before buying. That's a great way of learning which company you want to deal with in the future. I've had situations where I've been really hot to buy a piece of gear, contacted them with questions, and then got totally turned off by their response. Marketing and advertising are great, but the people you really deal with are those at the company itself.

If you like the way Lavry does business, then by all means buy their products. If you don't like the way a company treats you when you are considering their product, then most likely you'll really hate the way they treat you after they've got your money.

ESPECIALLY with interfaces...if you want the sound card to last longer than the average computer product you need a company that will offer good support.
