So many on eBay. My guess is they are.upgrading to the Symphony I/o. Is one a converter and the other a kickass interface with a nice converter built in?

I just don't understand it even after looking at it...that's why I'm asking.

It is an Analog to Digital converter. It is also a Digital to Analog converter AD/DA. It operates at 24 bit 192kHz and all resolutions under (16 bit, 44.1kHz for example). You can use it to convert from ADAT (digital) to a mixer channel input (analog) among other things.

Without trying to be smart, if this is too complicated to work out using the manual, maybe you need a simpler set up and a less complicated device? What are you trying to do with it? Maybe it's no what you need?

Alan.

You may be right. But this is a recording forum so I'm trying to go as far as I can and learn along the way. I'm not a musician just a karaokeist? You would not believe what I have collected over the years. What I really want is to have my vocal mix in well with the pre-recorded music (multi recording?). I'm not sure which machine will do this for me....or I just need to adjust levels and EQ at the right frequency(2-5khz band?). I've got a Zed12FX, Focusrite Saffire 6, Focusrite Forte, Profire2626, Sonar V-Studio 100, and finally X32 Rack. I messed around with some channels strips like Presonus Studio Channel, DBX 286A and finally my favorite Universal Audio LA-610mk2. I know I've got decent gears but I need to bring it together somehow and I need proper guidance. Please help what u think I should do and please keep in mind I'm still a noob.

What's the best interface for karaoke under $100? :D

Hint: Your problem is not gear. There are no machines that will simply just do this for you - not so far anyway.

You're trying to add an extra egg to the cake after it's been baked. It's not a particularly easy process. It's especially not an easy process if you're relatively new to mixing.
