API 2500 or other mix buss compressors

Hi folks, this is my first post here.

Has anyone ever used an API 2500? I'm looking for a compressor for mix buss compression and the API 2500 is on the top of my list, but have never used one and cant get a demo unit.

Also considering the Smart C2, would love a crane song st8, but need to keep the purchase under $3k.

any suggestions?

I think you're in the wrong place to be asking about $3k compressors.

Notice how most of us would be happy with a Behringer Composer or an RNC...
