So I just purchased an E-MU 1212m pci interface for my desktop, running windows 7 64 bit. Anyone have any beneficial tips or suggestions for me. And I am in the market for a 8 channel mic pre, and since I am on a budget for the time being, the Behringer ADA8000 is what I am looking at. I haven't really heard anything bad about them, so I figured I would see what you guys have to say about them.

No experience with the EMU. I have used ADA8000 quite a bit. A/D conversion is better than you would expect for the price. The pres are actually usable, especially for drums, as long as you don't push them too much. If you do, they'll get noisy. All in all, it's a winner on bang for buck in the cheap pre and A/D conversion market. Note this- you can't take an analog and a digital output from it simultaneously. If you give it a analog input, it gives you digital output. You can run the digital output back into the digital input and the analog outputs will work, but you just used your digital output. Or- you can send ADAT out to the EMU, which is what I guess you're planning. If the EMU has the right digital inputs, it should work. Yeah, the Behringer is what it is, essentially a cheap, rack mounted digital mixer, but- it is quite a bit better than I would have expected for the price, and mine has never failed. What the hell?

Yeah, that is exactly what I am planning on using it for. I haven't heard anything bad about them yet. I don't know if you have heard, but some company, BLA, I believe is modding them to Rosetta 800 quality.
