Hey guys, I just recently got a Delta 1010 from a family member. He gave it to me. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the CD that has the drivers and the software. Could someone make me a copy the installation CD? I'm hoping that wouldn't be illegal since I own the hardware. I would gladly pay for the blank CD and shipping...

Also, I can take a picture of it with my screen name on a piece of paper to prove I have it.

Just toss me a private message. Thanks!

HaHa! Are you hoping that the 1010 comes with a free recording program and you're hoping someone sends you a CD of Sonar or something :)
Like MichaelM said, all you need are the drivers off of the website. I have the Delta 44 and it's been running flawlessly since 2000. I think you'll be happy with the 1010!

Uh, NO! I have Sonar 4PE, thank you very much, you arse.

Doesn't the CD have the audio mixing utility and all that for the Delta? The drivers aren't going to do that for me! How will I select the inputs and all that? See what I'm saying? There's also some other settings on there using the control panel that comes on the disc that you can change around.

Geez, people are so non-trusting.

Everything you need is included with the driver download from their website.

Simply installing the drivers won't give me the Delta Control Panel Software, which midiman.net says is on the installation disc.

Umm sorry but yes it does. I've never installed from the CD and I have it. Where did I get it you ask? FROM THE FUCKEN WEBSITE!!!! JEEESSH, how many times do we have to tell you.

You don't have to be such a dick about it. I'm just trying to do the install correctly. The install guide reads like the control panel is a seperate software install. You didn't tell me all YOU did was install from the website and you had the control panel utility...I can't magically assume you even have the same card. Just trying to get some help. I've also noticed that everytime a "newbie" tries to get help around here, the "vets" of the board treat them like trash.

"If your Delta 1010 hardware and Delta Control Panel software are
properly installed, the Windows Control Panel should display an "M Audio Delta
H/W" icon."

Ok, so let's recap.

You say you need the control panel software. I tell you eveything is included in the driver setup utility. You say simply installing the driver won't install the control panel utility. What fucking answer is going to make you happy? Sorry, but sometimes being a dick is the only way to get some stupid motherfuckers to accept that the correct answer has already been given to them.

Okay, I'm not going to argue the point any more...it's pointless right now. But I will say that NORMALLY (on other hardware and such), only installing the drivers WILL NOT install the software that comes with said hardware.

Besides, if I didn't question the answers I was given...THEN I would be a stupid (and gullible) motherfucker...to quote you. And I wouldn't learn...I want reason...I want the "why" part of the equation.

Good luck on the 1010! I'm sure you'll like it.

Come on, you were being kind of stubborn after being told the driver install included the control panel. But I do agree that at times some of the vets kind of fuck with people. I think some folks need more patience with newbies. I remember I lurked here for quite some time before posting and I got somewhat familier with those vets.

Don't let that get you discouraged from posting. It's a good BBS even though it doesn't have much if any moderation.

In this case, the why part of the answer can't be given because I am not the developer of the software for M-Audio.

Myriad_Rocker, why don't you try downloading the drivers and everything from the website... I mean you can't screw up anything (unless you can't manage a simple installation file, even my dog can do it!).

I mean, stop posting and start downloading, if it doesn't work, then post again. I never need a manual to install something... I mean computers are now SOO easy to manage, plug, install, play. That's ALL you need. I mean, get a life and start thinking by YOURSELF instead of always obeying to very stupid procedures (the one in the manual).

Well, I hope you enjoy the product, I have been using it since 2 years and I have never even touched the CD, I might send it to you if you can't manage some stupid stuff like that, but again, I don't know if you know how exchanges between Canada and US works, so I might just ask you to pick it up, but then I don't know if you can ride a car properly up to Canada, so you might as well just sit there and start DOWNLOADING NOW.

Have a nice day,
joy

Oh yeah, and I am not a vet, and I will treath you like trash because you just act like trash, you don't accept any suggestions, and your story is very smelly.

I would download...but I'm at work right now. So all I can do is research occasionally on my down time.

My story is smelly? In other words...you think I'm lying? You think I don't have the card and I'm just looking for free software? Oh yeah, I'm looking for free drivers and control panel utilities that I don't have the hardware for....hahahahahahahaha........oh excuse me....bbwwwahahahahahahahaha.

I'll go download the drivers when I get my computer at home set back up. I have to do a reformat and install some new hard drives and such.

Well, smelly in a sense that you are suppose to be some kind of home recordist because it seems you want to record stuff but you don't know how to simply install a sound card in a computer... Good luck recording drum brother.

I bought a 1010 off of ebay 2 years ago with no disk. Downloaded everything I needed from the M-audio website, including the control panel.

No...I'm getting INTO home recording. Just trying to learn the ropes. As far as me not knowing how to simply install a sound card, I'm well passed that. I can install a sound card. But installing drivers and having the software that goes with the hardware are two different things. Drivers just tell the OS how to communicate with the hardware. You know, get it to work properly in the system.

I think there is some miscommunication to some degree in this topic. I'm not worried about acquiring the drivers! I can get those from the M-Audio site. I was just curious on how I would be able to install the Control Panel...because on my current sound card, IT IS A SEPERATE INSTALL FROM THE DRIVERS!

Oh, and I don't play drums.

Don't worry about it. It's all in one and the control panel will be installed from what you download. If you have any questions when you get there let us know.

First lesson is if you're just learning, anyone answering your questions on here usualy has a good idea what they are on about, otherwise they wouldn't answer.

When you instal the drivers (from the m-audio website) the control panel will be instaled, trurst me...I'm running 2 1010s and 2 410s in the same system...they all work from the one control panel....and it's available as soon as you instal the drivers and your card is recognised.
