I see there is a new ubuntu coming out called ubuntu studio.
I just downloaded ubuntu because I am sick of XP, but now I see that there might be some other versions.

Anyone used any Linux OS's for recording? Studio to Go? Anything else?

I have seen a few negatives while searching the forums, but I am not looking to do heavy tacking. I figure one guitar at a time, maybe two, a few overdubs. Some vocals. I don't use MIDI or anything. Studio to Go automatically supports a lot of simple audio interfaces by the looks of it. Something like a 2 in, 2 out, is all I would want. Echo Layla maybe.

anyone ever used a firepod with linux? I was thinking about setting up my laptop to dual boot while I live with a computer nerd. He runs linux on his thinkpad. Since we are graduating college in may, I want to set this up soon so he can help me through it. However, I am not going to bother if it isn't going to work.
