I can't decide beween Ardvark's 24/96 or the Q10 model. If anyone has any experience with either or both, I'd like to hear it.
Thanks

depends on how many inputs you need.

i got the Q10 so I can have more options for recording say, a drumset..or more than one instrument at a time.

I really like the unit, the sound and the preamps are fantastic for the price.

the nice thing about the 2496 is that all 4 of the channels have phantom power, on the Q10 you only get 4 as well...the last 4 are not, which is fine really...

But they are built on the same core...and, have a lot of the same features. I am not sure if the 2496 has the word clock output? Which I am finding can be a really valuable thing to have.

good luck.

Another vote for the Q10, ditto everything Wes480 said with one cavaet...

If you are buying either unit because it comes with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, be aware that Cakewalk doesn't recommend using this software with Windows XP. Rumor has it some people have gotten it to work with XP but I'd find out what problems they encountered.

FWIW - I bought the Q10 and upgraded the software to SONAR for a few extra bucks. I'm very happy.

Q10 works great

Go with the Q10 if you can. I have no regrets.

I went with the 24/96 - more because of price than anything else.

All the comments written above are correct - if I had the extra $$ I would have gone for the Q10.

Ciao,

Q.

BTW - there IS a driver issue at the moment relating to Win2K/XP with either the Q10 and 24/96 that has not yet been fixed. (Disabling onboard effects)
