I'm curious to know if anybody has a TDIF soundcard in their set-up and how you are using it (i.e. what software & hardware components are you using) and whether or not you like it - or you have any gripes. Specific cards I am interested in hearing about are the Prodif-T, M-Audio TDIF PCI, & Mixtreme - any others as well, but those are the three I have looked at.

Thanks,

Brad

i use the tascam made pci-822, though i'm about to purchase a motu 2408 to take it's place, just becase it's so expandable and i could use the analog inputs to record with my tmd-1k and macke at the same time. As for the 822, it's not bad. It's just basic tdif/spdif card. If you want info bout people using mixtreme, i suggest you go to the tascam bbs (on their website). There are a lot of people commenting on their setups with mixtreme (and other tdif cards) there.

I would definatly recomend the MOTU 2408 over those cards simply because of flexibility. You can use ADAT, analog and SPDIF if you need to, plus there is money to made convertaing TDIF to ADAT and vice versa. The cost isn't too much more. YOu can get a 2408 for 800 if you really shop around.

I'm using the MOTU2408mkII which is equiped with TDIF but I'm only utilizing the ADAT and analog gozintas/gozoutas. It rules.
