Anyone using a laptop port replicator?

I bought a laptop thinking it would be a quiet solution for recording. But now I realize that plugging and unplugging all the devices I need is a big pain. So I'm wondering if a port replicator would be a good way to go.

Are you looking for a port replicator or a USB hub? What else are you plugging and unplugging?

Docking stations are usually brand specific.

I know that docking stations are brand specific. I also use svideo and a network cable. With the replicator I would probably use a PS2 mouse and keyboard.

Dell even makes one that takes a PCI card. With that I could use my M-Audio Omni. But I haven't been able to find that one on their site and it is probably quite expensive.

As brzilian said above, you'll have to check with the manufacturer of your laptop to see if a docking station even exists for your model.

If you want to go 3rd party, I found this cool little guy that will allow you to use standard PCI cards on your laptop.
