Anyone using a dual processor system for a DAW ???

and cuz I got it now!- If I could just get WIndows 2000 installed I'll be OK. Then I'll be able to see if the dual processors are the kick or not! Eddie- your telephones ringing....

I'm up and running fine now. The problem was the driver for the Promise Fastrack controller For the drives in the RAID config. The new Win 2000 drivers didn't work, but the NT drivers on the floppy did! who da thunk it? Dude this system Rocks! I do get some crashes though :( usually when I'm not doing anything too heavy, It seems more solid the more I'm doing. ??

So now the problem is the sound card :( The elcheapo is already trying my patience- I want 24bits!

could you please tell me how to overclock my AMD k6-2 450 ? to 500? my motherboard is a asus psa-b with ali m1542 aladdin v chipset.

can i do it on my setup?
 
Do an Internet search for "overclocking" and you should get many detailed descriptions. Try http://www.overclockers.com They have lots of tips ranging from beginners to insane water cooled systems.

However, an increase from 450 to 500 won't even be noticeable. If you want to see a difference, you would need to overclock the CPU to at least 600. To do that, you need better CPU cooling and there are more sites about it than you can shake a stick at.
