I've had issues with my new LaCie D2 Quadra external hdd. Turns out I don't have enough bandwidth with it daisy-chained by FW400 to my M-Audio 1814, causing audio pops at random times and not being able to play a Pro Tools session from it.
Talked to M-Audio support, they recommended I get an eSATA expresscard. They told me it wasn't supported by Digidesign, and I read up on Digi's site, but the man I talked to said he knew of two people that use PT on an eSATA drive without problems. On Digi's site, it even says "Although there have been no reported issues with eSATA drives, these have not been tested by Digidesign, and are therefore not supported."
I made this thread to ask any of you if you use Pro Tools and an eSATA drive without problems. Thanks for the input!
