Hi has anyone tried any of these T.Bone dynamic mics for recording?

I'm also interested in this condenser

I worked with a West End session band in London a few months back and they were using the T.Bone MB85 beta's and they sounded great live. I'm looking for a cheap dynamic mic for vocals to compliment my current:-

Rode NT-1a
MXL V67g
Studio Projects B1
T.Bone RM700 (ribbon)

I've also heard great things about the Shure SM57 and Sennheiser E840. These are out of my budget because I only have around £30 to spend.

I've got a few MB85 beta, but i use them for live. You're better going with the mb75 or condensers/ribbons for recording. For vocals, i don't think anything will beat what you have for £30.

I thought T.Bone made one based on the SM57. This was what I wanted originally but didn't see it on their site!

I realise that this won't generally beat the mics I already own but I'd like a dynamic to compliment my condensers and ribbon. Ideally I would get a Shure SM7 but I'm a very long way off affording one of these!

Have you tried the MB75?

I know a lot of people who have stopped buying the original SM58's for the MB85's because they prefered them!

I have a few MB75s(sm57 copies) and in my experience they are pretty good, especially for the price. It has been claimed that they all sound very different, and although this may be true, i've never found 1, out of the 4 i've got, that i don't like the sound of. I have 3 mb85 betas, and i really like the sound of these for live sound. I have recorded with them('cause it suited the guys voice), but for almost everything, you are better with another mic.

Save up and buy a bunch of t.bone mics, chose your favorite, and send the others back(30-day money back guarantee). I have the SC300, BD300, a few MB85betas and MB75s, and i like them all. The SC300 isn't great 4 vocals, but is nice on acoustic guitar and overheads. The mb75 is nice on snare and amps, and mb85beta nice for live vocals and that 1 guy's voice recorded.
