Ah, I like this feature!

Options -> SoundFonts

Here you select which soundfonts you want to use in your project. Double-click on a row (or press "attach") to open a file browser. Locate the soundfont you want to use and "open" it.

You have now loaded a soundfont to your SB-card's RAM. Yay!

When you have imported the soundfont(s) you want to use, click on the MIDI symbol next to the name of the MIDI track you wish to apply it to (in arrange view). A dialog window will show up. Select "Output: SoundFont Device", "Bank Select Method: Controller 0", and pick your soundfont bank in "Bank".

thanks....now I have 2 Sf2 that are 118mb and 61.6 mb says i don't have enuff memory, but using the soundfont program that came wit sblive i'm able to load up the individual sound programs how do i use the sounds on tracks other then bank 0 general midi, for ex i'll load a sound in bank2 in the sblive program but it doesn't recognize in sonar...

Let Sonar do all the loading for you. It says you haven't got enough memory because you set the cache too small. Only use the Soundfont utility in SBLive's AudioHQ to increase the Soundfont cache size to the amount you need (man, those are some big Soundfonts!), but don't load them into memory with the same utility - it's doomed to fail.

Remember, the SBLive software only allows you to use 50% of your system memory for Soundfonts, so if you want to use both of those giants you have there simultaneously, you need around 360 MB of RAM. Or GigaSampler. ;)

i GUESS i need more memory too...i didn't know gigasampler did soundfonts too...how do i do it....u can't import them thats not part of the files they do...when i drag it, it gives me funny errors

It doesn't, but I recall having seen converter utilities (.sf2 -> .gig) around. Don't take my word for it, though.
