sometimes i feel like i could do a better job with fruity loops if i had the basic guitar parts already recorded, i think it wouldnt sound to bad if i recorded it in perfect time with a click track and then imported the song into fruity loops to add strings/drums/etc. anyone else do it that way? untill now i've always got my basic drum pattern and strings etc all set up first then import them into cool edit and record guitar/vocals to that part but it just makes it harder when i decide to change a part or anything.

I do both interchangably, if I want the backing first, ill FLStudio it first and then play over the top, keeping the tracks seperate, and so long as I dont adjust too much with the backing there is no need to change the guitar, so Ill just render another backing track and import it...

Should be easy enough to do it both ways, so long as you dont dramatically change the songs structure... :)
