Anyone seen this pre comparison?

I'm looking to upgrade my pres at the moment and this came up in my searches.

Someone compared the Mackie Onyx pres to a Vintech (Neve Clone).

I would have expected to hear a more dramatic difference. I hear slightly more high end detail with the Neve, but not much. I know that's often the case when comparing one track a time, but it is an interesting listen none the less.

Well, at first listen I thought it was dramatic how the ring of the snare shell came out more on the Vintech, but subsequent listens showed that to be a performance difference. There is a little more room in the Vintech clip, and a little more meat in the Mackie clip. I might go with either depending on the feel of the song. I know we're gonna hear the usual chorus of "across a dozen or so tracks the difference becomes huge". I really would love for someone to post a pair of simple mixes illustrating that stack effect.
