http://www.peacedrum.com/ .... No, I'm not spamming! :p

Specifically the D.N.A series kits. They're really cheap but they have some features about them that make them seem quite appealing. Stuff like the maple shells, suspension style tom mounts, lacquer finish, the fact you can get as many extra toms as you need for an affordable price (at the store I'm looking at anyway).

Trouble is I've never seen or heard them before and their nearest dealer is quite a way off so I'd have to go out of my way to try the drums out.

Also the paragon kits look quite cool as you can custom order the sizes and they're quite affordable too.

The kit these would be replacing is an old style Export and some pretty pathetic sounding snares, so I'm willing to take a gamble that these Peace kits will sound (and look) a fair bit better. I don't really have a problem with my Export's toms(I mean they suck, but they tune up ok), the snare and kick sound plain ugly and unrefined though.

Anyone heard these drums then? Wutcha fink?

$0.02

I've never played them, but I've been to a couple of gigs where a Peace kit has been used, and one of my mates owns a set.

If you want my PERSONAL, honest opinion - they're shite. As stated aboce, I can't comment on playability, but the best way I can think of to describe their sound is a full-size mickey mouse toy drumset. The kits look nice, but they have a very thin sound, not much ring, and NO character.

 heheh, well cheers for your honest input mate!

yeah I was half expecting someone to say "yeah they're pants, don't get them!". While I can recognise that some drums are just poorly made, I think I'm going to have to try these drums out myself somehow coz everything I've seen and read about them (apart from the price) tells me they'd be ok. Of course I do trust your word Elton, but... you know... I trust my own ears more. ;)

hmm, anyone else got an opinion on Peace then??

honestly, i have a peace snare drum at my store, and well, it looks nice, hand hammered look, but it sounds like crap..
