jus wandering if anyone who posts on here owns a mc909. Ive had mine for about 8 months now, any comments about it...

MC 909 here...

Yah I have one. It's awesome and I doubt anything can come close to what this thing is capable of.........and I have the dynamic drums srx expansion board too ---but I"m still going to throw it into the swimming pool soon!!!!!!!!!!! because................... ALTHOUGH i'VE BEEN ABLE TO MASTER TONS OF OTHER GEAR BY roland AND OTHER COMPANIES....... tHIS THING STILL STUMPS ME A FEW TIMES PER DAY!!!!!!i know it's capable of so much more than i can figure out but the manuals or any other online sources do not cover it. For example.......... the box for the dynamic drumkit card says it contains like 45 kits, 100 something patterns, and a bunch of other stuff but it took me a week to even figure out how to access 1 drum tone on the darn thing! I still can't find anything else on it but some drum tones AND!!!! there's a feature which allows you to dial (the big knob) thru the drum tones and as you turn the knob and each new sound is displayed, the tone at that preset is heard (as compared to turning the big knob to select and then hitting the trigger to hear it...a new tone is heard at each klik of the b ig knob turning which is really cool) HOWEVER........... the tone that is heard is a lot different than the one you hear when you DO hit the trigger. So it's so darn complicated and no instructions come with the board or the 909. After all this.....I still say that this thing is phenominal.
Anyone with tips please stay in touch with me ands lets trade thoughts
thanx

I also have a 909,
I find it a bit overwhelming at times as well but it is the hottest "groovebox"
out for what it has nothing touches it and i have them all (mc909,mp7,mpc3000,em1,rm1x, and ry30) but this is the most fun to work with.

I started with a Roland MC-303, MC-505, and when then got the MC-909.

It is my favorite piece of gear. You have no idea how much I like that thing.
I've studied it and used it so often that honestly, all I have to do is think about what I want to do, and my fingers go to auto pilot. Recording setup, track edits, effect processing, mixer adjustments are all literally done in fractions of a second upon thinking about it. I enjoy the interface dearly. Such a nice package. If anyone wants to keep in touch that owns one please do. I know of no other person that has the same luxury of owning that amazing piece of hardware. I have respected Roland dearly because of that machine.

That opinion was my humble version... you have no idea.

I see you said you owned the 303. I have a 303 and I like it (for what I can do with it), but I want to know more about it, and all the functions, and how they all work. Is there a website that may be similar this that shows the functions of the 303 and explains how everything works?
