Anyone know Roter Guitars??? Need advice

I'm wanting a custom 8 string made and these guys seem to fit the bill.

Thing is though, i'm not to happy about giving someone a large sum of money!!!

So i was wondering if anyone else has had or known anyone that has a guitar from these guys and whether they are trust worthy or not.

Roter? Mixed bag. This thread may be informative, though you'll want to read the whole thing as it starts off very positive and then degrades as the guitars start showing up:

Basically... I would absolutely NOT buy a fanned fret guitar from Rotor, as it looks like the templates they're still using seem to have a number of spacing issues.

Aside from that - a conventional fretboard is probably save, and they DO make very visually appealing guitars... But QC and customer service are a bit iffy.

What's your budget? Have you already tried all of the production 8-strings on the market, and what about them isn't working for you and is making you want to go custom?
 
I find the market on 8 strings is so bloody limited, thats it basically!

I'm going to go with Roter, been talking with the guy there and he's been really helpful.

I'm not brave enough to go for a fanned fret board either! lol.

I shall definatly put some pics up as its coming together cause this thing is gunna be not only an amazing sounding guitar, but also looks that will wipe the floor of any Ibby or Schecter!!!
