I couldn't find anything on their site saying they did or didn't. I'll probably call them later and ask if I don't get an answer here, but I can't call now and I need to know!!!!!. :D

I wonder how much more it will cost to get it delivered here if any Canucks out there have any experience with this kind of thing. Or, I wonder if it's smarter to get one of my American friends to buy it for me, and send it here.

I want to buy this: sE Electronics sE2200a II C | Sweetwater.com

Aaahhh! I didn't mean to put this in the "Recording" section. I wanted to put it in "Newbies", because I'm a Newbie at ordering anything online.

Anyway, looks like they do ship to Canada, but I don't know if it's still free shipping.

I just placed a mock order to see what the total would be. It was only $28 for shipping, but is it possible there's no tax? It looked like the total had no tax on it. Is this possible? I'm ready to order this mofo for real if that's the case.

That's why I'd like to hear from some Canadians because I don't want to find out that there's other charges that I'll only find out about when it goes over the border.

Help me. I'm stupid.

I have ordered from them in the past. Only once I believe. I can't remember much about it however. In general if they ship FedEx you are going to pay extra handling fees. We have a broker on the US side and simply drive down and pick up our goods. Saves a lot of money. Since we have been doing this a lot over the last several years I can't remember how much it costs to ship direct. Don't forget about duty if it is made outside of the US, Canada or Mexico

Thanx Beer. Yeah, I know what the shipping cost is. I chose regular mail (6-8 days) and it was $28. But it said $0.00 for tax. I just don't know if this is possible. I wish I was able to go pick it up in the States.

I'd be willing to buy this mic used, but it's not a very popular mic in North America, it seems, compared to England. To make it even harder, I'm choosing the cardioid version, as opposed to the multi-pattern model which is almost twice the price. I don't need figure 8,etc.....

Sweetwater customer service is second to none. Maybe give them a call. They will want to help you

Due to manufacturer restrictions, we are limited in what we can ship outside of the United States. Please call us to find out if the item(s) you are interested in can be shipped internationally. The following are exceptions to this policy (some restrictions apply for these destinations):

•Call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer at (800) 222-4700 for more information.

All orders are imported to Canada as casual goods and are subjected to Provincial Sales Tax (PST)
Thanx a lot Mark. Much appreciated.

What I quoted above is what I think will happen no matter where I buy from. Not that it's the end of the world. We're only talking about another $10-15. I just don't want any surprises when I get to the post office and am told something like "That will be $80 duty, plus sales tax, plus this fee, plus that fee". I've never ordered anything from the states, so I don't know what to expect as far as additional charges.

I'll look at B&H though. This is the mic I want, and I'm pretty sure I won't find it used here in Montreal.

Thanx again.

Well, barring any unforeseen charges, looks like I'll be going with B&H. The mic's $10 cheaper and the shipping's about $20 cheaper. That's $30 right there.

Mark's the man!

Hey RAMI

If you're looking for an american shipping address, you can have your stuff shipped here:

Freeport Forwarding

It's just south of the border, literaly right accross from the border from Lacolle!!! I had my blast cult, king bass, and musicman bass shipped there, they hold it for you and it costs peanuts. if you're willing to drive down, it can be worth your while for expensive items.

Oh and if you have stuff shipped, try to get them to use USPS, all other shipping companies (fex ex, UPS...)will rape you with their brokerage fees!!! I've already had 40$ fee on a 60$ item!!!

Thanx OH!

If I drive down to Lacolle, I'll probably end up spending about $40 on gas, so I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

You see, the brokerage fees you mention is what I'm not sure about and wish someone did. B&H says:

"....The customs clearance option is a speedier method shipped via Purolator and includes all customs fees with no additional charges upon delivery." Do I take that literally? This is what's making me hesitate.

Do, or did, you have to pay import fees on the interface I sent you? I'm willing to buy and ship to you if you need.

Don't know yet Chili. Still waiting for it. Actually, I'm glad you mentioned that. I'll wait and see what, if anything, I have to pay there and should give me an idea.
Thanx man.

I believe USPS/Canada post has a flat 5$ brokerage fee, regardless of how much the item costs. The other courier companies are quite arbitrary!! Not sure about the customs fees included in the price, never bought anything that way, but looks like it's legit.

Of course it might not be worth driving down for a small amount, but the blast cult shipping was 1000$ to Montreal, and 275$ to Champlain NY, so well worth the drive!!! And since it's american made it was dutie free, but still had to pay taxes on it though.

Oh and regarding taxes. You don't pay taxe if you purchace outof state.

Cool thanx for the info.

What I need is someone who lives in Canada who has ordered from a store and had something delivered right to their door. Right now, I'm dealing with a bunch of "maybe's". Like I said, I can live with an extra $30-50 when I have to pick something up. But I don't want to be at the post office having to put out over $100 just to take my mic home.

What do you mean "out of state"? I don't live in a state. You mean out of the state that the store is located at?

My brain's starting to fucking hurt.

Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'm going to wait until I get the interface that Chili's sending me in the mail and that should also give me an idea. But I have a feeling that what I see is pretty much what I get as far as cost is concerned. I'm only rushing because that's how I am, but I won't be doing vocals for anything new until some time next week probably, so I'll relax about it for a few days.

Thanx for all the help, guys.
