anyone here using a PortaTwo?

i just picked one up used.. its a Porta Two High Speed from the late 80s and its black, (not the modern Porta02 which is blue.. theyre different)

any tips for it? does anyone have a manual ? ive looked around with no luck.

The machine you have is a great one. My first solo album was done on a porta two in 88 or 89. Go to the analog forum also. There is great help there.

I don't have much in the way of tips, 'cept to purchase the Porta Two user's manual from Tascam Parts, @ (323)727-4840.

The Porta Two HS has features roughly comparable to the 424(std) and 414(std), plus two more full channel strips and real VU meters. The higher tape speed (double speed) and dbx NR will boost hifi content of your recordings. The Porta Two HS is way ahead of the modern Porta 02 in features, sound and quality. Built for fun.
