What did ya' think? I need a mic that is primarily for vocals but would also sound great along with a Royer R 122 for micing an amp. It will occasionally be going through a Universal Audio LA 610 tube preamp and into a Digi 002R interface, but mostly going directly into the 002R. I was going to order an Audio Technica 4047SV but was advised I might like the GT 57 or perhaps an AT 4040 better for voice (better top end) with my application. Thank you for your comments.

I've used it before, and thought it sounded pretty much par for the course for a Chinese condenser.

Nothing too special, and had that big 'ol bump in the high end. I'm not about to say it was terrible, but you can get that same basic sound if you just pick up whatever cheap Marshall mic is on sale at Musiciansfriend ... if that's the kind of thing you want.

The 4047 has a good rep as a male vox and guit cab mic.

i've quite enjoyed all of the Groove Tubes mics I've used (and their new Sterling Audio friends)...

I think they're above most of the other stuff at their price point

groove tubes gt 57

i know this is long after the fact! but those who might come across it in the near future, i love this mic ! i recorded one song along time ago with it using it for hand claps vocals and nylon string guitar, what a pleasure omg every thing i recorded sounded so smooth and sweet . I own a akg solidtube mic way over the cost of this and the gt definitly competes with it. I was running the groove tubes gt 57 into a presonus eureka preamp and compressor and was blown away by the results. please try this mic out. peace
