i just got this and it looked simple enough to hook up but i.m getting no sound.
heres what i am working with.

jvc22 cd+g player
yamaha emx66m powered mixer
2 15" yamaha speakers
2 sm57 mics
M_audio Audiophile
Adobe Audition Software(i set it up so the audiophile is the playback and recording device)

I am trying to set up my system to record 2 tracks,1 voice and one the music and mix down from there.

Now i hooked my "OUT" from Cd player to the "IN" on audiophile...Then i went from the "OUT" on the audiophile to the "IN" on the mixer.
Power it all up and i get no sound when playing a cd,the sound should be coming from the mixer.
I checked to all the settings in the audiophile control panel like mute etc.. i can see the bars going up and down in the audiophile control panel.I don't have a set of headphones,so i can't tell if i'm getting sound from there.

thanks,mike

It's probably because your going straight from in to out. When you send something to the ins of the audiophile, it comes in has nothing to do with the output yet. You have to do some direct monitoring, because you basicly want the audiophile to do nothing to your signal, just let it through. The output basicly puts out anything that is played by your computer, but since the cd player isn't part of the computer it does not directly see it as something that goes straight to the output. You need to set some kind of monitoring switch on/off. Mess with it. Just for a double check: insert the cd into your cd-rom drive on the computer and see if you do get an output signal there.

Try this.Go to the MAudio control panel, click on patchbay router, and see if it's set for Monitor mixer or wave out 1/2.On mine if it's on monitor mixer,I don't hear anything but still see meters jumping.Clicking on wave out 1/2 gives me sound.

heyas and thanks for the info.i changed the bus from output to input and now that parts working ok,i can record and playback but i,m not picking up the vocals from the mic.
i think that is because i am going from the out on my cd+g player to the in on audiophile and then out from audiophile to the in on the mixer,so basically what it is recording is all the stuff from the cd+g unit.i verified this by plugging a mic into the cd+g and then i got both music and voice but all in one track.
so i'm thinking it's still not right,i should be getting everything from my mixer to the recording software not from the player.gonna go switch some wires around and see what i can come up with,i'll prolly be back with more questions! :D
thanks again for the help
