Ok, first of all the Roland SH is a fine instrument. Second, I think that the new Micro by Korg is a great peice for the price. It has about the best vocoder $ for $ and the same engine as the MS2000 (with less polyphony).
Think of the keys as an added bonus for a very good desktop sound module. In other words use them to audition sounds, but plug in a MIDI controller for performance.
As for the presets, who uses presets? It's all about programming your own sounds.
