Anyone have an Avlex C133?

Hello, does anyone own this mic besides me?
I think it sounds pretty good, but I havent done
a lot of comparisions. Do I have the only one in
the world?

I've seen it on Ebay once when searching for mics and after that tried to find some reviews on the web but the only thing that came up is Avlex homepage. As far as I know that company's located in Quebec and my guess is those mics are somewhat rare. Perhaps because they're new. That doesn't mean they're bad. It's possible that they use the same parts and construction as some other more known mics (ie 797 Audio from China) but I do not know if that's the case here. It doesn't mean they're bad though, especially if the company is new. You could write to Avlex and ask where they're buying their parts from and try doing a search on them later. If everything else fails you could probably compare it with another mic at a store and see which one you like better. Maybe someone else has a better advice.

Hi Munro, and welcome to the forum!

So, at least one person has heard of this Mic!
The company is located in Kansas. The website
basically has no information, and I have found very
little info on the net.

I have had this mic for 6 months, and I like it a lot.
I was going to buy a Rode NT3, but the store manager
( Guitar Center) told me to get the Avlex, and try
it for a week. I liked the mic and kept it. The problem
is I never tried any other mics, so I have no point of
reference, and I dont know what the Avlex would
compare with.

What I do know is I paid $110 dollars for the Avlex,
which was just slightly used. For that price, I think
I got the best deal of my life.

I am considering buying a new mic, any ideas?

Hmm, I have no idea why I thought it was in Quebec. Now that I think of it, it's probably because the seller was from Quebec. Oh well, wish I could help more but don't know much about Avlex mics.
