I'm thinking of buying a Golden Age Project Pre-72 mic preamp and wonder if anyone here uses one?

It seems to have a lot of fans. And gets very high ratings for it's price.

I have one. It's a good pre amp. I picked mine up from someone on GearSlutz.com.
Liked it with an SM7b. Really liked it with AT-4040.
It's not the pre amp for everything, but kit works well on vocals and bass.
I need to work with it more. Just not enough time right now.

Thanks for that loveofjazz. Haven't decided 100% yet but will probably get one.

I've got one too and love it. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find something that could beat the pre73 in it's price range!

Thanks, good to know.

FYI my mics are an AKG C414 a ADK Vienna and a Studio Projects C1- they're all fairly budget mics and I'm not madly in love with any of them but I don't have the budget for anything more expensive.

I am hoping that putting them through the pre73 is going to be an improvement to my 12 year old Soundcraft Sprirt Studio desk.
