Has anyone used a t.bone mic in paticular the sc600 heres the link http://www.thomann.de/index.html?partner_id=97926&page=ie/the_tbone_sc600_grossmembranmikro.htm

Im thinking about buying this mic in a package which includes an maudio fast track pro and a sssnake cable all for 222 euro including shipping im just starting out so im hoping i would see fairly good results with this setup. I will be using it for acoustic guitar and vocals maby i will get another mic for guitar later down the line

Hi nicky just read u'r pm's I have not used t.bones..but here is a review of some of their's..
I do have a Rode NT3, and have used one of their LDC (Large Diameter Condenser/capacitor ) can't rem which and I am impressed they are often recomended..
But there is always somfink amiss and that is who used it, in wot room, how good r they at sound, and how they placed it to sound source..Location, location, location and who!!!

These mics made in China,as are so many, for thorman ..the folk who sell it on the web I think, where u saw it...so no 3rd party profit

as to opinions have a read on this...goes from 4to10..who's right. Wot were they using it for, wot mics have they used to compare and wot were their expactations..Arbitarily? i'd give it 7/8 for wot i use it for.. i warm it by putting it thru valves, ot the focusrite or joe meek pre-amps..all give difrnt sound

Hi buddy ya i came across the same reviews in my google search but they dont mention the sc600 but they don mention the sc400 and the reviews for that are positive so me thinks the sc600 could only be better seeing as its a newer model i guess maby its worth the risk but i would love some feedback from someone who has used or owns one

I've just edited the last so follow that link...who's done the RIGHT review?

no prob mate cheers

It's an OEM mic made in China, which doesn't mean that it's a bad piece of equipment...just that it's out there under multiple names and likely at multiple prices. Thomann has a decent rep though.

appreciate the info mate thanks a lot

Not the SC600 but I've heard several acoustic guitar tracks done with an SCT700 owned by someone I know who got a very sweet guitar tone with it. Kind of a pillowy sounding mic. Watch out though because budget mic's can vary a lot from one unit to another. Some low priced brands are pretty consistent with quality control, like Naiant and KEL. Others aren't.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about the naiants but i cant find them anywhere any ideas where i could find them. As i said i did read a couple of positive reviews on the t.bone sc400 which im assuming is a lower model than the 600 and is a cheaper mic so im hoping that it would be a better mic but the fact that i cant find any reviews from people who bought turns me off a little

I own a T-Bone 50s style 'Elvis' mic for live use. Great value and the performance is roughly similar to an SM58. Engineers seem a little worried when i remove the in-house SM58 and replace it with this mic, but soon reassured with the performance. About half the price of the Sure too.

Got it from Thomann.

Had a look at that on 45 euro is even cheaper than the sc600 in your opinion do the specs look the same

I had the T. Bone SC1100. I really liked the sound but for some reason it would cut out so I guess the electronics or whatever in the mic are where they cut corners. I sent it back to Thomann and got the SE 2200A a far more superior mic for an extra €50 imo

I guess like most companies they can be hit and miss with their products

well im just starting out so the mics you mentioned are a little out of my price range but the fast track plus mic plus cable for 222 is a really good price provided the mic is not absolutely terrible. will need a pop filter on top too i suppose

Sorry can't help with specs. The mic looked cool for stage use, is very economical, and performs like an SM58 is all i know.

To be fair, I've heard their mic's are cheep but a little hit n miss as regards build quality. The first one i had a screw fell out and the insides came loose as a result, when an engineer pulled the mic cable out it broke some connections! So when i bought the replacement I superglued the screw in place first off! As you say for 40 euros you can't go too wrong really. Been well-gigged and it owes me nothing. The actual Sure 50s style equivalant was a lot more expensive.

Id look into it and get a few for the Karaoke gigs...I run a rig every once in a while...cool thing about those is that you have to keep them on a stand so they wont hit the floor when a drunk has trouble with the mic clip. :)

So in other words you think there pieces of crap?? Have you used them

Id rather have a $50 mic that works well in that situation than a $150 shure 55S...it wouldnt work out in my studio...but running a karaoke rig is a nice way to drum up studio buisness...alot of Idol wannabee kids out there with checkbooks.

I kow the blue/gold tube LDC has had good reviews and I own a pair of the SCT180 Stereo pencil mics which are pretty good. A little bright but good.

Also worth noting that their entry level ribbon mic is identical/same factory as the NADY RSM1 which retails at over £200, four times the price!
