"Anyone experience this problem?" -or- "Tips on dealing with your bad karma"

I have been downloading certain “ahem” try before you buy recording software from the internet. Sometimes it works sometimes it does funny things to my computer even when I uninstall the said software. 4 questions:

1. Could the software be fucking with my registry even after it’s uninstalled. (ok that's a no-brainer)

2. If I make a copy of my registry files before installing the software then import those files after I have uninstalled the software will this help save my OS from going down the tubes?

3. Any other suggestions? Anyone want to speak up who this
has happened to?

4. When I want to download said software is there a way of knowing if the file I am downloading is incomplete?
For example if there are 5 or 6 rar or zip files availible of the same software but they vary in size is there anyway of knowing which is the best one to download.

1. - Yes

2. - Maybe

3. - Downloading hacked software is a great way to get computer viruses.

4. - Not really.

The only safe way to deal with "try before you buy" is to download the DEMO version from the manufacturer's own site. If you're idea is really to evaluate it this is usually fine. If you're just looking for free hacks, well you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately this doesn't only happen with cracked software....Ever heard of Easy CD Creator v4 with windows 2000??
Try uninstalling it and behold as it totally f**ks up your sytem...

Easy CD creator is the source of all evil and is best left in it's case or even better, in the store... I really hate it.
