Anyone Ever Use The Line 6 Floorboard With The POD?

I got a floorboard and Pod 2 years ago. I really never need the floorboard. Everytime I used the Pod, I was sitting right beside it. My brother uses the bass Pod, and his band is having a show in about a week and a half. He wants to use the floorboard, but I really don't know how it works. He doesn't use the bank settings. It's all manual. Would the floorboard help him?

im not sure which pedal your talking about

is it the fb-4 (small one with 4 switches) or the larger board with the expression pedal?
I have the fb-4 and use it ocasionally just messing around in my home studio. The only problem i see with using it live, is that it has a small glitch in between the banks when you change. Its very annoying if your changing banks during the song. Im not sure if the larger pedal does this or not.
If hes not planning on changing the presets during songs then the pedal could be usefull. He could program his settings for each song into different banks and then just switch with the pedal in between songs. That would keep him from constantly dialing in stuff manually.

I have the bigger floor board and love it.I dont have the glitches
that were talked about. its very smooth going between presets
I have to outdoor bar gigs coming up and will be using it.
My only negitive comment is the cable going to the foor unit, it
is more like a thicker phone cable and I worry that one day I will step on it wrong and break it ( I will probably buy a spare to bring
along to gigs)

How would he program his settings in for each song? It's the bigger one with the 4 channels, 4 other buttons, the volume and wah pedal.

There is a couple ways. The easyest way to explain with out looking at it is.
there are to silver buttons on the left hand side of the floor controler that switchs the channels
There are nine ch's with four presets each.
go to one of the presets then start changing the amp tones to your liking when you get the amp sounding the way you want press the save button on the amp, it will start blinking then press it again. done.
Move to the next preset and follow the same steps. Do you have the manuel??
I am not near it right now so im going by memory if you need more help I will check the posts tomorrow and look closer at the unit. I learn things quick and things become like riding a bike where you dont even think about what your doing .

So I would got to 1 A and switch it around until I like it. The little Edited thing pops up beside the number. I hold save on the Pod and now 1 A is whatever I made it? (I don't have my Pod close either)

Ya, if you go to 1A, then go ahead and set the amp anyway you want. if you hold the tuner button in,The dial with the amp selections changes to a whole defferent group of settings.
but remember after you hit save it will be blinking then push it again to complete the save (I think its the tuner button??)
also something cool is if you hold the tuner switch down on the floor board for a few seconds then let go, it puts you in tuner mode then depress the volume peddle and your ready to tune without having to be heard. when your finished tuning hit the button again but with out holding it.
I still havent checked it out because I have been mixing two other projects but I will be rehearsing sunday night so all grab the manual in case you post more questions.

I just want to add that it sucks that Line 6 made the nex pod not compatible with the old floorboards. I have a POD 2.0 which I use live, but I don't buy a floorboard because when I upgrade to the XT version, I also have to upgrade the floorboard. aaarrgh

marko polo

i may be wrong but im pretty sure that the cable for the floorboards is the same thing as an ethernet cable for a computer. Should be able to pick one up for cheap at a place like walmart. It wouldnt hurt to have a spare around at gigs.
