Anyone ever mic an unamped electric guitar?

Unfortunately, I feel as though the only thing that will resolve this issue is to move. That won’t happen for at least 5 months.

Have you tried other outlets in your house? My place was built in 1959 and is ungrounded. I went around with a multimeter and found two outlets that ARE grounded, just by chance/accident. I have sometimes run extension cords from these ti the amps in my office.
