being big on the DIY thing i've often wondered about building my own monitors. has anyone done this with good results? did you build your own amp too? any suggestions for plans?

I've built several speaker pairs over the years , and like others have made some good some crap and one REALLY GREAT set that I sold to my nephew 'cause I moved (divorced) and didn't have room for them. I'm currently using a subwoofer that I built a few years ago and was stored for a long time. About 2 months ago I bought a Subwoof amp module from MCM and installed it in the box.. It sounds amazing and I swept it down to 35Hz where it dropped off sharply. 35 Hz ain't half bad. The box is 8 cuft with a single 12" spkr. Next one will be 12 cuft w/ a 18". Should be flat down to DC.
