hi I have the alesis dm5 pro kit and use it to record drums with battery 3. the problem is(and I believe it's due to the drum module) that I cant do drum rolls. ya see, if I set the gain hi, for more sensibility, my soft hit will sound hard. I believe this is the module that sucks. anybody uses this kit with a diferent module, say a roland or yamaha, or even the dm pro, from alesis(I read the dm5 pro kit's module is a dm5 not a dm pro). or anybody have some decent settings with this kit for the gain and velocity curve to share with me? thanks.

The only thing I could suggest for you is to adjust your velocity curve (VCurve) settings. If you still don't get what you want, keep reading.

The DMPro is nothing more than just a DM5 with a memory card interface so you can supposedly load more of Alesis's stock add-on samples. That won't benefit you for your function since you're triggering to another software sampler. So you won't find any greener pasture there.

If you still have problems and have adjusted everything possible, you might be better off plugging in an Alesis Trigger I/O as from the video and audio I've experienced there's been much better realistic playing accuracy with those units.

thanks, did some adjustments and it's getting better, I'll read the manual again and keep trying.
