I get the idea of what it does but I really don't get it. I can bring the tracks to my computer edit them and save them back to the ADAT? Or con I control the ADAT via the comouter. So it's like usibg the ADAT as a hard drive on the computer. Is that it? It's only 8 channels...Can I use 3 for a HD24?

the adat edit card provides 8 channels of lightpipe in and out of the computer. you can use it with up to 16 adat machines. i used it with 3. i could transfer tracks with sample accuracy to and from the computer. you have to do it 1 machine at a time. you set the time you want to start, then the time you want to end and hit record. it transfers the tracks automtically. then, you change machines and do it again. there are better options for the hd24. the fireport would be the best. it alows you to transfer tracks back and forth via firewire.

And if I want to run the mix through the hard disk again I just put the tracks on via fireport too? How does it know with track is witch? Labeling?
