anybody tried an Alesis io26 ?

Was going to get an Alesis io26 for mobile 24 channel 24 bit recording, any thoughts pre's any good?
I like the look of the hardware monitoring app...

not a bad choice. convertors and preamps sound clean however some of these units have had unusual stability issues so don't throw away your receipt.

DICE II chipset. It will either work with your machine or it won't. If it doesn't, don't bother trying to get it working. It will only run out your return period and then you'll be stuck with it. Be sure to buy from a reseller with a liberal return policy. I have some vague recollection that AMD CPUs are particularly problematic with DICE II, so if you're using an AMD CPU, best avoid it entirely. I could be remembering wrong, though, as I just skimmed a thread on that subject a couple of weeks ago and it didn't apply to me, so I didn't read it too carefully. :)
 
i've got one, the pres sound pretty nice, though not amazing. running with a pentium dual core as well on winXP sp2. i've had her for a couple years now and she hasn't fed me any issues yet.
