Looks like some plug-ins just didn't load.
They may have glitched when you were opening the program.
Did you try a shut-down / restart?
Do you have any licenses on USB?

They are just REAPER plugs!
Did you move REAPER to a usb stick? (if so, then you've probably not moved the reaplugs over, some how??)

I had similar when I moved my project folder, they are not where REAPER expects to find them?

Yeah, first thing is double check where the plug-ins are, then 're-teach' Reaper where to find them.

I've seen that message, but it didn't look like your screenshot. Either way, I'm pretty sure all I had to do was shut down and re-open the program. If that doesn't work, follow everyone else's advice so far.

Try:

Options/Preferences . . .

When the dialog box comes up, scroll down to Plugins, then VST.

Try any of these three buttons: "Autoscan", "Re-scan" or "Clear cache/re-scan".

You may also need to click on "Add" and point to the directory in which the cockos plugins are located if Reaper has somehow lost this connection.

thanks.. yes it was just the cockos ones were gone, the JS stuff was still there.

It's possible while I was trying some rescan stuff , clear cache etc.., to add Addictive Drums, I messed something up, because the error happened after that. I was pressing all kinds of rescan's and Alt P, per some poster comments from 2008...to get Addictive Drums (but that never worked either). It makes sense probably I erased the path or something.
I just deleted all the Addictive Drum stuff, and copy&pasted the Reaper Folder from my Cdrive to the folder in the GdriveUSBHD, and it works again.

software to me is like asking someone who doesnt play a guitar, to play a guitar...lol

at least I learned something about the Alt P and "adding" a VST...well, havent done it successfully yet, but Im getting there.

BTW, I see you have compression on your master channel - why? Just my opinion, but don't put anything on it during mixing stage. Wait til you have the mix done, render to stereo WAV, then work with the master track on the rendered file.

That is interesting you should say that. I guess you just give it enough head room to make sure it doesn't clip, then bring up the volume and compression on the final mixed version?

No, your mix should be nowhere near clipping. You should be peaking way lower than that, like -6db, -10db, or even lower. The mixing stage is not the time to worry about volume, just get a good mix and worry about volume after.

This error pops up from time to time, restarting reaper usually helps.

It brings me great joy to take a screenshot of it, show Justin and gleefully shout "[insert name here] has hacked cockos.com!!!!!"

I recall in the early days people would say about computers.."go ahead don't be afraid you cant ruin it..."
im not sure that's true in my case. lol

I recorded now for many hors and no issues. In my case restarting Reaper didn't fix it, and clearing the cache and auto add didn't work.
Rebooting the pc didn't work either. To be honest I don't really know why it started working again.

Recently I have just done a transfer of everything to my portable HD USB and in this same timeframe I attempted a download of drum something files into the folders of reaper and that's the best technical info I have is the timeline of the error and two things I did.

Ive been having luck doing that, thanks for sharing that tip.
You've mentioned it many times, the lower volume, and render the mix to 2track ast 24bit, it seems to have more clarity.

lol... its bad skills
all this mixing and dynamic effects is to me, like some attempt at playing drums when one doesn't really know how. so the technique is off...wrong..wrong off.
off wrong...lol
Im getting better and the techniques suggestion are solid, its just hard to break bad habits. Saving to Wave and all that and organizing is working too.
