I am looking for some software that shows me which frequency something is occupying. I have heard some people talking about some freeware that does this so can anybody reccommend something to me? Thanks a lot.
pat.hitsquad.com have a list of such software.
one such product is the old cool edit 96 editor and a free editor called sound engine. (note - 16 bit only). you load in a audio track , hilite a part of the waveform, and they will tell you the frequencies.peace.
I have acid pro 4.0. Does anybody know if there is anything in there that will do it? I may post that question in the sonic foundry area, but if anyone here knows please tell me.
If you have VST free Voxengo SPAN works mighty fine in real time and allows averaging and peak views to be plotted by the spectrum. In addition it uses 16KFFT which allows for nice bass resolution in full scale mode (otherwise bass peaks get averaged together if the FFT is too small). You also get average rms and peak rms indicators, along with peak meters on your app you can zero in your loudness any way you like!
Cool Edit has a 65K FFT size but not real time mode for that one...I'm not sure what SF uses...
I use the Brainspawn plug in too. It has the analyzer plus a phase meter which is good for your stereo main bus to check paired mic phasing. Really a great product and not that expensive.
