Just another guy, really.
Scored a quad of what must be small stage monitors. Built like little tanks, both as robust and shaped about the same, they have black composite plastic cabinets, a single 5 inch woofer that fires up at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal and a single horn that fires straight out (horizontal- weird) and a recessed banana plug on the back. They all play fine, driven by a Samson 120 Servo amp (60 watts per channel), good volume, clarity, and frequency response. No ID tag, only thing is says anywhere on them is "Acoustic Research" and "Holographic Imaging" molded into a panel on the rear.
A google search revealed zero info on these, and no pics. Apparently, AR made mostly high-end home audio equipment, I am finding NO info on any pro audio equipment from them.
I am quite excited about them- my too-big guitar group has a show coming up, and I am hoping these will be good to supplement my bigger (12" driver) monitors. Gonna set them up this week for rehersal to try them out.
Oh, and I only paid FIVE BUX for all four, and they EACH had a banana plug on them!
