TapeOp reviewed it this month and seemed to say that it's very similar to Red's Type A mic but with a fuller range and then said that the Type A mic had a nicer top end than the Neumann CMV 563. Kind of odd considering that the Type B is $450 new and the CMV 563 is about $1k+ used.
So what gives? Is the Type B an incredible deal or simply hype? I've yet to read a single negative review in TapeOp for any piece of gear they've covered and of course Red advertises in TapeOp so... well, you know how that tune goes, eh?
